Minnesota’s First Alumni Competition/Reunion PLEASE HELP US TO GET THE WORD OUT! When: Saturday, April 18, 2009 Where: Roseville Area High School, Roseville, MN Who: a) Former Minnesota Future Problem Solving students (FPSers) You might have been an FPSer for one year or for 8 years b) Former FPSers from other states who now reside in Minnesota c) Team mates of former FPSers that now reside in other states
Schedule: 7:30 – Register 8:00 – Opening Ceremony 8:45 – 10:00 – Written Competition (Brush up on your problem solving skills!) The topic is "Counterfeit Economy." Alumni teams will write 8 challenges and 8 solutions 10:00 – 10:45 – Evaluators’ meeting and networking 11:00 – Lunch At this time we need our evaluators that are competing to join us in the evaluation room. Other competitors will prepare for the oral competition. Remember to include any team members that are evaluating so you can prompt them just prior to the competition. 1:00 – 2:30 – Regular team oral competitions. Alumni are welcome to enjoy watching any division. 2:30 or so – Alumni Orals Competition in the auditorium. All regular teams are invited to watch. 3:30 to 5:15 – Free time if you are not evaluating. 5:15 – 6:45 – All alumni are invited to help us honor Bee Beedorn. At 97 years young, Bee, a colleague of Dr. E. Paul Torrance who created the FPSP, is still one of our greatest advocates. She has just finished her memoirs and will be signing copies at this time. Bee is hoping to meet as many “Torrance Kids” as possible during this reception/book signing. 7:00 p.m. – The moment you have been waiting for! AWARDS!

For just $25.00 you will have the opportunity to: compete, get together with old friends, make new acquaintances, pizza and pop for lunch, AND awards – if your team wins, of course. So, what if I can’t get my old team together? Don’t worry, we will make new teams! |
